I got that a lot- Diet is easy

‘ Why everyone says that diet is the easiest thing to do? I got that a lot from people all around the globe. They’re not playing with my mind right? How it can be happen? I tried all the possible way to diet but it just not working………………………………………………….at all. ‘




                I was a typical eighteen year old girl who love to bake, read fashion magazines and listened to music. like a typical teenage girl, I also thought I was ‘fat’! I am not really satisfied with my current weight. The worst thing was when my friends make jokes on me how fat I am. Really?!!!!!!!! I can’t help myself from jealous that overpowered just seeing other girls wore skinny jeans and crop shirt showing their flat belly. Urgh, why I just can’t be like them. I also exercise a couple times a week but it does not showed any sign of skinny. I read every diet, exercise plan and even followed fitness account on twitter and instagram in hopes can shedding some of my faithful fats. Guys, please remember:



                As you can tell, I love to bake, sitting here right now, I smile as I remember about the day before Eid, I had spent hours in the kitchen, up to my elbows in flour and sugar in order to bake a blueberry cheese cake. Yes, cooking is pure bliss. A little more than 5 years ago, I would never have said that baking was anything other than a danger that needs to be avoided. But, I have grown a lot since then. During that time, I don’t really care about the calories in there because I ll not burden my pretty little mind for that kind of thing.

‘ It is easy to lose weight. '

‘ Okay I will start diet by tomorrow. I promise! '

‘ The burger looking good, okay by next week I have to lose weight. '

‘ Why diet, your body already in a good shaped. '

‘ Okay, just forget all about diet. I’m already beautiful in this way. '

                When I was sixteen, I made a new year’s resolution to lose weight. it started out innocently enough. I cut out chocolate milk and juice and substitute with water, I also scaled down my portions. Having a supportive friend just make everything better. I already loved running and was doing plank everyday. although it was not noticeable, I knew that I had lose some weight. I was pleased with the results but wanted my ideal body to come more rapidly.

                Since then, calories became my obsession. I installed calories counter in my phone to track down how much calories I ate a day. So, I stuck to a strict 1200-calorie-a-day-diet. Breakfast with cereal, lunch with more vegetable less carbohydrate and ended my day with maybe oat, cereal or just low calories food.

                I remember one time when my mother trying to coax me into being less anxious about food, made me a baked beef lasagna. I was a big fan of lasagna but I could not finish it. How was I supposed to know how much calories were in it? a plate of it was totally disaster.

                Oddly enough, I love to watch cooking shows. My thought was if I could not enjoy the taste of food, at least I could enjoy the sight of it. So, Anna Olson, Racheal Ray, Giada De Laurentiis and Bobby Flay became my regular viewing friends. The hosts had such passion in their eyes when they talked about this meat they were searing or how wonderful bread crumbs can be. Racheal Ray was very influential. She was always smiling! I will never forget something she said on one episode, Food should be fun!

                Wait a minute, How could food be fun? Food made you fat. Food was the scariest things on earth. But, my brain began to absorb that message, maybe my thoughts about food were terrible.

                Then, steadily but slowly, I began to catch on. I realized that I was hurting my body. I had trouble with sleeping and causing my family and friends anxiety. It was not a good thing. I also began to put some techniques I learned from my cooking shows into practice. Enjoying every bite, appreciating foods really bought the idea that food was a good thing.

                For what I believe is the first time in my life, I have achieved a healthy balance diet. Until this time, I still maintain to do some work out a couple of days a week. Making the green tea my best friend although its flavour was indescribable worst. I realised I need to eat more so that I can keep up with active day I had. I feel great with my body, my brain also well function to absorb more information during study. I do not count calories. My goals is to become fit not skinny anymore. I know that I need to put nutritious food into my body, but I also know that the occasional pizza and the more occasional piece of chocolate will not hurt me.

                Now, I am hungry. I am ready to speed out to the kitchen right now. For those who tell me that diet was easy, I will track you down! Don’t lie to me! hahahaaaaahahaahaaaaaaaaaa.....
